Addition sequences

Subtraction sequences

When you have had a few goes at each you can have a go at some of the sequences around the room. Put your answers in comments – write out the sequence in full then write the rule for the sequence.

My Year 4s have been looking at the Stone Age in their topic – they are reading a couple of excellent story books “Stone Age Boy” and “Glog” and have now come up with some questions that no-one round here seems to know the answers to!

Mr Lyford told us that if we put them on the blog he would try and find some experts who might be able to help us!

So I have gathered them here and they have put their questions here in comments.

My name is Mr L. I am lucky because I get the chance to work with the amazing Y4 class a couple of times a week. As well as teaching here at ORCS I like to ride my bike and visit interesting places. I don’t have any pets but would like a raven or a flamingo. My favourite subject when I was at school was Geography and I loved reading non-fiction books, especially biographies.

326.5

Three hundred twenty six point five.

6 represents 6 ones or 6. 6 is always before the decimal point. 5 represents 5 tenths or 0.5.

When we say .56 after decimal point we don’t say  it fifty six  we say five six.
